SAKHILE REACHES OUT TO INTERNATIONAL MODELLING AGENCIES

MBABANE– Model and ambassador to a litany of campaigns Sakhile Simelane has reached out to international modelling agencies to help with her modelling career.

Simelane who has been featured on many Instagram catalogues and magazines said she was spreading her wings, with hope that someone sees her potential and capability.

This is why the model’s social media platforms were a hive of activity as people were reposting and re sharing her plea of international gigs.

“Please help me share this, my aim is to reach or get a modelling agency,” read part of the post. The model has always said that despite fashion being her first love, modelling will always be a part of her life.

“I have an emotional relationship with modelling because I love it so much it is my calling, I feel now I’m ready to give it my all because nothing beats being a creative,”  she said.

In 2021, the model was featured in an instagram post by Vogue magazine, the first model in Eswatini to be featured in that post. As if being featured in one of the world’s leading magazine’s Instagram pages was not enough, model Sakhile Simelane’s photo grabbed the attention of international supermodel Naomi Campbell.

 Local Instagram and Twitter users went into frenzy when the star shared the pictures on her Instagram page.

Campbell listed the owners of the work as well as their countries of origin, further tagging Simelane on the picture. The sharing of the picture was another story to Simelane, who expressed great excitement at the fact that her username was tagged by a renowned international superstar.

It is not every fashion model that can seamlessly shift minds to help portray art through photography, fashion and creativity while integrating fellow artists and encouraging collaboration in the process.

Simelane is a fashion model who grew up in the Kingdom of Eswatini. She is also a self-taught fashion designer and fashion stylist and she is a qualified Social Sciences graduate of the University of Eswatini.

Before devoting her full time and effort to the entertainment industry, Sakhile had no idea that this was the path that would steal her heart. Her modelling career only began in 2016, during which she was in her sophomore year as a university student. Sakhile joined and won the Miss UNESWA pageant from which her passion for modelling was ignited. In her quest to becoming a successful model, Sakhile was head hunted by KFC Eswatini to be one of the ambassadors for an Independence celebration campaign in 2016.

As much as things were not as smooth as she had hoped, Sakhile’s resilience and work ethic pushed her into Swazi Plaza advertisement billboards in 2020. She went on to be hailed by one of the best supermodels in the world, In addition to this, Sakhile continues to create extraordinary work with local photographers and breaking new ground.
