MANZINI CHIEFS PRESENT 71 CATTLE TO THEIR MAJESTIES

MANKAYANE – Chiefs from Manzini Region have outdone themselves by presenting a stunning 71 cattle to Their Majesties.

This announcement was made by Manzini Regional Administrator (RA) Prince Gija, who was speaking in his capacity as Manzini RA and in his capacity as a person who was speaking on behalf of his fellow chiefs of the Manzini Region. He was speaking during the King’s Birthday celebrations at Mankayane Sports Ground.

Prince Gija is a chief of Nkamanzi Chiefdom in the Manzini Region and he is also in charge as a chief of Nkamanzi Chiefdom in the Hhohho Region. Prince Gija, when delivering his speech, mentioned that 10 cattle belonged to her Majesty the Indlovukazi and 61 cattle belonged to His Majesty the King.

The Manzini RA further thanked Their Majesties for choosing Manzini Region, particularly Mankayane, as a place where the King could celebrate his birthday. He then told the attendants about just a few specialties of the Manzini Region.

Prince Gija said Manzini was one region that had the most number of constituencies in the country. There are 18 of them in this region. Shiselweni and Hhohho Regions have 15 constituencies each, while Lubombo Region has 11 constituencies.

This makes Manzini Region to be the most represented region in Parliament. Prince Gija also revealed that Senate President Lindiwe Dlamini and Deputy Senate President Ndumiso Mdluli both hailed from Manzini Region. Dlamini hails from Mafutseni, while Mdluli hails from Ngwazini.

MANKAYANE SERVICES FIVE CONSTITUENCIES

MANKAYANE – Out of the 18 constituencies in the Manzini Region, Mankayane directly services five of them.

This was revealed by Manzini Regional Administrator (RA) Prince Gija when addressing Their Majesties today during the King’s Birthday at Mankayane Sports Ground. Prince Gija said these constituencies had a massive potential of producing agricultural products, which could make a substantial contribution to the economic growth of the country.

The constituencies serviced by Mankayane include Ngwempisi (where this town is situated), Phondo, Mangcongco, Mahlangatsha, and Ntondozi. Prince Gija started with Ntondozi, which is represented in Parliament by MP Peter ‘Vulinjini’ Ngwenya. He said this constituency was known for producing vegetables. He called upon residents of this constituency to continue producing more of these vegetables, in line with the ‘Nkwe’ command from Their Majesties.

Another constituency that Prince Gija spoke about was Mangcongco, which is represented in Parliament by MP Nomalanga Dlamini. According to Prince Gija, this constituency was proximate to Montigny Investments in Bhunya. Its land was used to grow pine trees that could be sold to the company. He said Mangcongco could produce a lot of honey and other bee products because of the pine trees.

Another constituency that Prince Gija talked about was Phondo, which is currently represented by MP Bonginkosi Dube. Prince Gija said Phondo had fertile soil, which could produce potatoes and other products. He said this constituency could also produce honey because it also grew pine trees for Montigny Investments.

Concerning Mahlangatja, which is currently represented by Mguciso Dlamini in Parliament, Prince Gija said this constituency was known for producing more maize and sold it to the National Maize Corporation (NMC). Residents from that constituency also produce more beans.

He said Ngwempisi hosted the town of Mankayane. He said Ngwempisi was also known for excelling in agriculture.
